The City of Greenbelt provides many recreational activities within close proximity to Greenbelt Homes and throughout the city. Within walking distance of most Greenbelt Homes, Braden Field has tennis courts, a volleyball court, and football, baseball and soccer fields.

The Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center features an indoor and outdoor pool, a hot tub, aerobic room, fitness equipment and individual weight machines. The Greenbelt Youth Center is also located in the town center. It has a game room, weight room, and a gymnasium. It offers summer and school break camps and after school programs for kids.

A short drive from Greenbelt Homes is the Greenbelt Dog Park, the first of its kind in Maryland.
	The Dog Park, as much a recreational facility for people as it is for dogs, consists of a fenced-in area where dogs are permitted to be off-leash. In addition to promoting responsible pet ownership and helping to socialize dogs, it offers safe exercise opportunities for dogs and their owners.
