Buddy Attick Lake is a
favorite place for Greenbelt residents to take a long walk or jog.
It also i s
a favorite fishing spot. In addition to the trail around the lake,
picnic areas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There
are several, larger picnic areas that require a city permit.
The lake is also well-known for a day-long fourth of July celebration
that concludes with fireworks over the lake.
Woodlands and established trails surround and wind throughout Greenbelt
Homes.

Member volunteers maintain the trails, ensuring that
the trail markings are readable. Many of the homes in Greenbelt Homes
back up to these woodlands.
Within walking distance from the north end of town, Greenbelt Homes
is close to the border of the Nation's Farm, the Beltsville Agricultural
Center (also know as the Ag Center). It is open to the public providing
an excellent location for bicyclists, joggers, walkers and scenic
drives through the Ag Center. It is a working farm and often farm
animals are in fenced fields that abut the roads through the Ag Center.
